FINAL VERDICT: BUY!

Truth be told, I'm a dog person. I don't hate cats, but I don't particularly like them. So if you told me that a little story about a cat and his robot friends would bring me to tears, I wouldn't have believed you. Yet here we are. Stray has a very touching story which has one of the most cathartic endings in video games.

This world you're passing by is a decaying one. One that is dark and bleak. What happened to humanity? Why do these robots act this way? How do you keep hope alive? Is change possible?

Stray is technically an action platformer. But truth be told, there isn't much to the gameplay. One of the redeeming qualities of this experience is that Stray does not overstay its welcome. So the gameplay never feels stale. There's this one section of the game where you're shining this (UV?) light at enemies. I thought to myself that this is starting to get repetitive, and it seemed as soon as I had that thought, this particular gameplay mechanic was never to be seen again.

Stray's map sections are cordoned off from each other. You can easily bypass large swaths of the game. However, you're also free to explore and do side quests, which will add significant time to the game. I managed to beat the game in 7 hours, but I imagine it can be done much sooner if you know what you're doing.

What really sets Stray apart from most games is the little attention to details. You can do a plethora of cat things. Such as scratch up carpets, take a nap seemingly anywhere, cuddle up next to a robot, and, of course, cause all kinds of mayhem by breaking things. It makes being a cat fun. You can go by unnoticed or become someone's best friend.

Rate 8/10.

Yes, it is good thing to be able to say goodbye and help whatever you can to ease the pain.

I have liked "silly cat moments" :) in Stray too, such a nice game.

@bumble bee thank you, I do miss him but it truly was for the best and I was actually more heart-broken seeing him sick and not being able to help than I am now ... sometimes it's just time to say goodbye and it's a part of life and he had a very good life (I spoiled him big time) ... it was fun playing Stray and just enjoying those silly cat moments, a nice way to take my mind off things
