Early Access Review
This game will imprint Murphy's Law into your brain forever.

As a veteran of Dwarf Fortress, there have been many attempts at cloning the legendary game's masochistic "Fun" that grabs you like you just did a line and slaps you in the face, leaving you to beg for more. While I have logged many hours in Gnomoria and Towns, and other such games, they just have not been able to keep my attention for long. Whether it be poor AI, a feeling of general disconnect with the world, or just simply, lack of enough "Game" to be interesting, it seems like Rimworld has finally hit the bullseye.

Hell, this game might even captivate me more than dwarf fortress at this point. With its absolutely beautiful soundtrack reminiscent of both Prison Architect's (Same composer, I think) and poking a teeny bit at the nostalgia for Firefly, the world feels both alive, and interactive. If you want to and you think you are up to snuff, you can siege an enemy town, picking off bandits with precision down to the finger. But beware, however powerful you feel you are, the game will always, and I mean ALWAYS cut you down to size.

While I've found Randy Random, ironically, to be the most balanced, and the easiest of gamemodes, Playing him on rough and above is just as masochistic as picking Cassandra or Phoebe. Beware their lulls, they can and will destroy you without a second though. And you. Will. Love. It.

Oh, and Workshop! And mods! Did I mention mods? I probably should have!

TL:DR This game is crack cocaine, and in its Alpha state, holds its own against the current king of Colony games, Dwarf Fortress

Yes. Yes. And Yes. This was my best purchase of 2016.

Also Give it a Steam Award pls.

EDIT: Still fun, now beta, 1.0 soon :D
