Rogue Stormers is another game part of the recent wave of rogulikes / roguelites that has brought about many fine titles like Binding of Isaac, Rogue Legacy, Hero Siege and Enter the Gungeon. It is not a dual-stick shooter, however, but rather a side-scrolling shooter, gameplay-wise comparable to titles like Metal Slug and, to an extent, the aforementioned Roge Legacy or Castlevania, though obviously with less focus on melee combat.

It does offer a few unique twists though, such as complete free-aim and a plethora of secondary weapons. You won't have to worry about ammunition either, and can fire from all barrells pretty much full throttle :D

The game offers multiple playable characters with individual special abilities (all but one of which you will have to unlock by playing & progressing), plenty of unlockable pasisve perks and powerups, and secondary weapons. The latter two of which you will have to collect anew in each run, while the others are permanently unlocked (hence the roguelite moniker).

Personally, I find this game quite enjoyable and well worth the price of admission. A great pickup game to do a run or three when the fancy strikes. While the gamepad controls took some time getting used to, the keyboard + mouse scheme should feel fairly intuitive to most gamers. The comic artstyle and the over-the-top lore (if you want to call it that) might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's the type of game where gameplay counts most and this the game does very well!

The game's co-op modes offer great fun as well, both locally and online, and from what I've seen (admittedly, I'm not overly involved), the devs seem to be on the ball as well, delivering patches and update to accommodate the community feedback.

tl;dr
I would recommend Rogue Stormers to any fan of side-scrolling shooters / action-based roguelites / co-op pickup games. Well worth the price!
