I used to like the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime,at least up until 5DS,never really bothered with it after that.Damn,do I wish I'd watched it now.
Essentially, this is very similar to the card game, but with notable differences.such as the amount of spaces you have for monsters and spell/trap cards.Saying that,it doesn't really detract from what is a damn good game.
If,like me,you enjoy collecting certain cards,or enjoy playing with type/themed decks,it's sometimes a bit of a grind getting the cards you want(like for that Shiranui deck,or Mayakashi deck that keeps whomping you everytime you pvp),its worth the hassle,as the feeling you do get when you get that card(or even sometimes 2 or 3 of the cards you want in a single pack,it has happened to me whilst trying to add said Shiranui cards to my collection)is extremely satisfying,to say the least.
To get those packs, you have to duel or play events to get Gems(yes, you can buy packs and decks and other items),but its only time that you'll need to build a really decent deck.Login, duel, play events and such and you can soon have a lot of the cards you might want.
And yes,its fun, frustrating, annoying, often needs to reboot to get back in when it crashes out(happens often to me),but the feeling you get when you hammer an npc's/another players life points to zero,or make a comeback victory in duels is sometimes extremely rewarding, sometimes downright euphoric.
In short then, its a damn good game, and especially if your a fan, well worth the slight grind to get fairly decent.
And some of the cards visuals/pictures are absolutely stunning, esp Dark Magician Girls :)

Play it,you might just encounter me over there in duel world, but be warned if you do,I'll show no mercy!
