After 30hrs I have a new outlook but more criticism as well. I think the game is good and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys souls likes. The weighty feel of combat and the look are all great. Even the atmosphere and level design are really pleasing to look at in some parts while others are more straining to the eyes. I still think while the weapons have different looks and thats always fun it really comes down most of the time to which has higher damage rating. I have yet to get a set bonus that felt like it did much. Abilities while cool and flashy most of the time are just hyper armored by almost all enemies which feels terrible. The game is very linear in its world design for the first 15-20 hours and than starts to dabble in branching paths that fold in on themselves. There are 7 categories of enemies and maybe anywhere from 7-15 different types within that category, but alot of the time its just this guy with new weapon or this guy but bigger. One of my complaints that I think could be just a quality of life update or maybe I haven't reached that point of the story yet is when farming a boss or level. Once complete you still need to do the ending dialogue and return to the crevice, but it always puts me in the light side. So if farming a boss for set bonuses I would need to run up swap sides run to the nexus click the area again to fight it. Small problem and only adds a few minutes to every run, but when the boss doesn't drop the piece in 5 kills it almost becomes more annoying than its worth.
