I've been waiting for this game for over a decade. It's finally out, and with a phenomenal amount of polish. An amalgamation of the Source modding era.

Game is good!

You can basically recreate Windows screensavers with this, especially with the pro dlc. Also you can crank your resolution settings way up for this game, your gpu doesn't give a crap. I can only run 1 million particles at 120 hz (500% resolution) right now though. Gonna switch to 90 hz.

It's really sluggish. I hate how your gun just sort of lazily drifts towards where your controller is, it throws off my aim and means I can't spin the lightsaber around like a lightsaber. It makes melee combat feel a bit like dragging something around with the physgun in gmod. The game also runs kinda awful for how basic it looks. The aliens look great, but everything else doesn't. Everything's kind of a bullet sponge. Which is fine, because you are too. So really the combat comes down to kiting your enemies while charging up your shotgun and eating the bullets that don't miss you. I had to go to the Steam Community and look up a guide on how to open the pause/upgrade menu. Also, you can be standing at the edge of a pit and moving your head forwards will drop you off, so uh don't do any peering. There are some cool moments and I want to see more weird creatures, but the moment-to-moment gameplay just isn't that great.

Game won't let you jump without running, only sometimes. Game doesn't have proper feedback for this. Very frustrating.

Needs more content! And progression! I'm a roguelike fan and this game is really well-polished. But one campaign and only 3 floors? They say it's randomly generated but floor 2 was the exact same layout 3 times in a row. I want like 10 floors and harder and harder enemies, with strength/agility potions to go with. Floors 1 and 3 are really tiny. A few other people mentioned wanting workshop support which would help tremendously. Game is an investment that's not going to pay off until they release a few more campaigns. Or an infinite mode!! Gimme more dungeon crawling!

great fun and more danceable than beat saber
