Diablo 4 Review - Over 100 Hours In

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

After putting over 100 hours into Diablo 4, I can confidently say this game has completely hooked me. From the gritty, dark world to the ridiculously fun loot grind, it’s everything I could’ve hoped for in a Diablo game—and then some. Here’s my take as someone who’s been slicing, dicing, and looting my way through Sanctuary:

Gameplay - Addictive and Satisfying
The combat is an absolute blast. Whether I’m wiping out hordes of demons in one spell or carefully dodging a boss’s deadly attacks, every moment feels intense and satisfying. The skill tree is a game-changer—there are so many ways to build your character. I’ve already tried a couple of builds, and I still feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. The endless possibilities make me want to dive right back in, even when my inventory is screaming for a cleanup.

World - Dark and Immersive
Sanctuary is a masterpiece. Every area feels unique, from the creepy, foggy swamps to the snow-covered cliffs that make me shiver IRL. The atmosphere is so well done; it’s like stepping into a gothic painting where every shadow is hiding something sinister. Exploring the world is a joy—there are hidden dungeons, random events, and creepy stories around every corner. I still get chills whenever I walk into a dungeon and hear unsettling whispers in the background.

Progression - Rewarding Grind
Okay, I’ll admit it—I’m addicted to the loot grind. Watching shiny gear drop after clearing out a dungeon or beating a tough boss is like hitting the jackpot every time. The moment you equip a piece of gear that boosts your build and instantly makes you feel more powerful? Pure dopamine. And just when you think you’re done, the Paragon system shows up, giving you even more to work on. It’s the kind of grind that feels less like a chore and more like a challenge I can’t wait to tackle.

Multiplayer - A World Full of Friends (and Rivals)
Running into other players in the world was weird at first, but now I love it. Teaming up for world bosses or even just helping someone clear a random event makes the game feel alive. And the PvP zones? Absolute chaos—either you’re the hunter, or you’re the hunted. (Spoiler: I’m usually the hunted.) It’s a fun way to mix things up when you need a break from grinding.

Seasonal Content - Keeps Me Coming Back
The seasonal content is genius. The current season has added new mechanics and challenges that completely changed how I approach the game. It’s nice knowing that every few months, there’s going to be fresh content to keep things exciting. It’s like the developers know exactly when I’m getting too comfortable and throw a curveball to shake things up.

Highlights - Why Diablo 4 Shines

Combat that feels smooth, powerful, and endlessly fun.
A beautifully creepy world that’s packed with surprises.
Deep character customization that keeps gameplay fresh.
Great mix of solo and multiplayer content—there’s always something to do.
Seasonal content that keeps the game from getting stale.

Cons - A Few Bumps in the Road

Grinding for the perfect gear can be repetitive after a while.
Some skill builds don’t feel as strong, which can be frustrating.

Final Thoughts - Worth Every Hour
Diablo 4 has earned every minute of my 100+ hours, and I’m already itching to jump back in. The game is so well-crafted, from its intense combat to its beautifully twisted world, that I can’t help but get lost in it. Sure, the grind can wear on you at times, but when the payoff is this good, who’s complaining? If you’re even slightly into action RPGs, this is an absolute must-play.
