Inventive concept, good variation between runs, even if item pool is small, bag mechanics provide more variance.

Surprisingly complex, in a good way

Its a fun game. A mechanical improvement over Majesty. However, the vibe and atmosphere that made the original so special is absent here. A huge part of this is the AI artwork. If it wasn't for the AI artwork I'd have given it a thumbs up.

While the base game is the weakest of any Dragon age game (other than veilguard), the addition of the DLC turns it into my favorite game of all time. The only competitors are Hades and Elden Ring.

Don't get stuck in the base game's busywork. If you get bored download a save editor and give yourself as much power, a currency you get from completing open world objectives, as you need to move along the story.

The best cast of companions of any RPG ever made. Act 3 is too short and the encounter design is lacking but otherwise a wonderful RPG. Do note that this isn't a power fantasy storyline like most RPGs. At its most fundamental its a tragedy. This combined with the former issues made it poorly received at release.

While it is loved by the community now when it came out it was as poorly received as Veilguard. I say this only to say that each Dragon Age game is quite different and has to be enjoyed on its own terms.

The most beautiful game ever created. My first recommendation to anyone who has never played a video game before.

Less interesting story and companions than the original. But, it starts quicker, has better graphics, better combat, and various other small improvements. Its easier to recommend overall even if the experience is less memorable. I love RPGs and this is one of my favorites.

Starts slow but rewards you if you get invested. Not a fan of the combat but the story, worldbuilding, and direction/tone is good enough to carry it.
