Slightly disappointed but not the game's fault. I came into it expecting like a homage to Uncharted Waters : New Horizons...one of my favorite SNES games of all time. Sadly it's not. You are first greeted with making a character that can have a variety of different fantasy races. Alright, I'm fine with that...as long as I can do some exploring.

Right off the bat you're exposed to combat which I wasn't expecting but ok, this is going to be a combat heavy exploring game. I'm still intrigued.

You finally get through the intro and start exploring and this is actually the best part of the game. It takes a lot from Uncharted Waters, except for one thing. The "village system" has been replaced with a new system of "obscure terrain features" like finding a cave....or finding wild brush. It's here you can get out and explore and find rare items, you can then keep or sell.

The problem is....you have to fight these insanely difficult battles. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's equivalent of dropping 1st level DND characters to fight several 7th level creatures. It's just way too hard, especially if you don't want to waste time fighting. In New Horizons, when you went to villages, you just paid the villagers in food to search their land for treasures and occasionally members of your party would die. That was it.

In this game, it's just constant fighting and gets repetitive quick. Granted the game has great reviews, so if you're one of those people that like grinding over and over and leveling up and working on several different moves just to go back and beat 3 spiders in a cave...then this game is for you.

But if you're expecting something like New Horizons, i would advise you to pass.

Not usually a fan of RPG's but this game is great.
