Early Access Review
My friend and I were looking for a fun multiplayer game to play together so we got this game.

After being forced to be graced with an unnecessary and frustratingly clunky tutorial we came to the same conclusion.

You know that feeling when you're getting kidnapped by the hamburgler in a dream and when you try to punch him, it feels like you're made of styrofoam and your punches have no effect no matter how much force you put into them? That's what happens when you try to hit stuff in this game.

If you move your hands too slow you'll do absolutely no damage. If you move them too fast the sword will curve away from what you're striking at like it's got a broken gyroscope guidance system. There's just some weird decision-making by the devs on which hands direction or rotation to follow.

The controls are really wonky too and you cant change them. The trigger is toggle to grab stuff and you hold the grip to slide your hand around which just makes no sense.

I found myself with a bug and unable to pick up things that I dropped as well.

Overall super disappointing because it looks like this game would be so fun if it wasn't so uncontrollable

I love the physics and concept of this game and I really looked forward to being able to experience the first realistic vr game. The problem seems to come from the fact that video games are made to make you feel POWERFUL, and when your character experiences weight and resistance and you don't, it makes you feel weaker and clunkier than you are in real life,

Combat is fun and interesting because the enemies all have simulated muscles and joints so damage feels real. The guns in this game feel so much snappier and real than in any other game thanks to their effects being noticeable with physics. But with melee I often get tangled up and stuck especially when my hands don't go where they're supposed to thanks to the physics of real life not matching up with those in the game. I also feel like I take damage often when I am hardly hit at all, or i obviously have an enemy restrained or blocked. The enemies all seem like they're a couple times heavier than a real person so doing things like hitting them with a heavy object leads to them just powering straight through, bending your limbs instead of theirs.

The puzzles are where I have my real gripe with this game. They're sometimes clever, but never fun. They always take way too long even for a simple puzzle because you have to do things like fenagle a really heavy object up some stairs or repeat a climbing puzzle multiple times, and climbing puzzles are the worst of the worst. Because your vr limbs are based off of physics and not your real hand positions. This is cool if you're simulating something heavy, but in this case it means your hands are a couple feet higher than you have your real hands, making climbing super clunky and awkward.

I really want to love this game. I love the idea of a fully simulated world and realistic physics for vr, but this just doesn't deliver on any other aspect of the game.

Honestly I'm not proud to say this but somehow this has become my favorite game. It's endless fun and you can be as stupid or as tactical as you like. The movement is deceptively intuitive and snappy, and the sheer overload of permutations of crazy weapons, blessings, and environments means endless replayability. An april fools joke is now my favorite game.

At the start of the match, my opponent clasps his hands together. Looking like hes about to whip out some sick jutsu. Next turn, he defies all expectations. This madlad rips off his own hand and throws it at me all in one swift move. I was stunned.

I went through the replay file of that match and memorized every combination of muscles needed to do the same. Now as a complete beginner I know an advanced undefeatable technique.

10/10 Now I'm trying to learn this in real life.

10/10 Best slowly-walking-down-a-long-hallway simulator ever made

Disclaimer: I have played this game 4.995 times over now, I have many more hours than it says here.

I originally pirated this game as I expected it to be just eh. (it was in it's earlier days and I only had the impressions from the floods of undertale crap all over my tumblr feed. I came into this game expecting to be unimpressed and for the game to be sub-par.

I was sorely sorely mistaken.

This game is so good that I actually paid money AFTER pirating it (and admittedly sending to all of my friends) because I believe that this game is that worth it, and I wanted to write this review.

Now for the review. I don't know how to express it enough to explain how truly outstanding I think this game is, but I will try. I am thankful to whatever diety is out there for allowing me to spend my time on this game in particular. The story is absolutely perfect, it plays with your emotions like a thermostat, and it makes you feel like you actually have emotions to begin with. This is to the extent that I stopped .5 percent away from the end of the game just because I want to roam around and live in this world. The characters are easily loveable or hateable depending on your preference. The visuals are quaint, and perfectly match the type of game it is. Speaking of perfectly matching, THE MUSIC! (get ready for some extra length here, Skip to the break if you want to skip the music section) I have never heard music that better fits any select situation in ANY peice of media EVER. From the most obvious things of a fabulous robot's battle theme being a fast pased fasion-show-style song with an electro drum backing and some techno style sections, to the most deeply buried things such as the re-entrance of a dj character being fortold by a remix of his own battle theme. The music itself is also just well made, and being a little more than an ameteur producer myself, I applaud Toby Fox for such music that can both be dauntingly well fitting, and just great all toghether. I would pay for music like this, and I wish there was more music like this out there.

Break. Now on to the gameplay. It is actually NOT THE BEST out there, though it's pretty fun seeing what the next boss battle brings to the plate in terms of in battle visuals. The gameplay is just par to be honest. No real challenges to face while exploring, or interesting items to use that you can exploit to get to locations you arent supposed to get to. It's more of a taletale game with more exploration, and a bit of action sprinkled in. That's how I saw this game.
This game does offer a lot in the sense of control. You are given a lot of control over what you do. Each choice you make sometimes matters a lot, which is more that can be said of most telltale games and are most of the time irreversable. This adds even more to the realm of character development, as you see yourself as more of the character, and less of just a spectator.

TLDR; if you enjoy:
great story, great character development, amazing music, smiling, crying, smiling and crying at the same time, being an obsessivly good person, or a murderous psycopath, moral dilemmas, long hallways, (spoilers [kinda]) endings that twist so much and so often that you arent sure what direction you were coming from to begin with (end spolers), addictions, goat moms, goat dads, goat brothers, dogs, skeletons, NOT flowers, cinnimon, butterscotch, snails, Having a bad time, and just a great game altogether...

This is the most immersive japanese family simulation game I've ever played. I can almost feel myself dishonoring my family as I play!

This game is absolutely fantastic. I have always loved mass amounts of customization and this offers just that. It takes a while to progress to the point of being able to create anything, but man is it fun using your own designed vehicle to fight everyone elses.
