As things have changed for the better overall since my last review I did well over a year ago. I think its only fair to edit and write a fresh review of this game and here is why I am now recommend it to those that want to play a train simulator on their computer and thus drive a train from their desktop PC (or an armchair for a gaming laptop). So you get three routes to get you started into the game. You can upgrade and expand the simulator with more add-ons in due course and also its best to buy the DLC in the seasonal sales every year to make your money go further and if you want to buy your favourite add-on DLC.

That aside, let's get to basics here. In Train Simulator, you can not only drive trains but you can build your very own routes and also share custom made routes and scenarios with the train simulator community. Sounds good right? Well it is once you learn how to use the tools and there is plenty of how-to guides as well to help you out.

So what are the good points and the bad points?

Good Points
- The game comes with a good selection of routes and trains to get you started
- Exceptional Amount Of Add-ons From Steam & Third Party Developers
- Game Runs Stable On Most Medium And High End Gaming PC's

Bad Points
- The game is prone to crashing on PC's with less than 8GB of RAM (I speak from experience)
- The DLC can be expensive for some budgets
- User-created content for the Steam Workshop is only compatible with the Assets available from Steam only (except for the Just Trains Class 60 Advanced Pack)

Overall Rating: 8/10.
