The definitive version of an absolute classic. I first played vanilla DD on 360 at launch and was glued to it for months. Between this, Dark Souls, and Skyrim, I had plenty to satiate my medieval roleplay needs. While Dark Arisen doesn't expand on Gransys much, Bitterblack provides enough content to maintain replayability. I've only invested a few hours into this port but I can already tell that it's leagues beyond the console versions.

PROS:
+ Deep and immersive character customization from appearance to class and web of skills (also one of the greatest, most intuitive face builders in all of RPG history)
+ Customizable pawn(s) make for a very unique party-building experience
+ Smooth and fluid combat mechanics that extend beyond the typical hack 'n slash norm
+ A large expanse of overworld and dungeons to explore

CONS:
- Story can feel a bit shallow -- obviously to accommodate player-made avatars and not an actual main character
- Minor features such as romancing NPCs, escort quests, and the acquisition of portcrystals feel like more of a chore than fun
- Pawns talk. A lot.

9/10 - There aren't many titles that are /actually/ comparable to DD. A lot of 3rd person action RPGs are rooted around the tired "mash X to win" formula, and this game finds a way to bridge the gap between casual playstyles to more involved ones. The difficulty options augment the gameplay very nicely, and you never feel as though you just can't advance. I'd absolutely recommend Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen to anyone hoping to find a modern, realized version of Capcom's classics like King of Dragons, Wizardry, or Eye of The Beholder.
