Spelunky 2 is a platformer with beautiful, charming art design and deep, challenging roguelike gameplay. The procedurally-generated levels, along with the complex interactions among the player, the enemies, and the levels themselves, allow for hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of replayability. If this sounds a lot like the original Spelunky to you, you would be right. It is basically the same game heavily tweaked and greatly expanded. But what it lacks in innovation it makes up for in pure fun.

A must-play experience, and my choice for 2020 Game of the Year in the Steam Awards.

Be warned, though: when I say challenging, I really mean it. You will die a LOT. But your deaths are rarely unfair and can usually be traced back to some mistake you made. Also, there are quite a few secrets hidden in the game, and that combined with the difficulty means that you probably will never see everything. This absolutely does not affect my recommendation, but it is something to be aware of if you get frustrated easily or have completionist tendencies.

Brilliant action, massive world, and superb graphics. Just don't expect too much in terms of story.
