Great game. Takes getting used to. You can play competitive once you reach a certain level (3 at the time of writing this, but this is subject to change at the whim of Valve).
That's the real CS:GO.
As you play higher ranks it get's more and more stupidly difficult.
I have the most fun just playing against lower silver players (It gets difficult for me at Silver 5 and deffinately at SEM - Silver Elite Master which is the 6th rank).
You get a rank after 10 comp wins. You will start out as Silver 1, 2, 3, or 4 typically when you first get your rank on your 10th comp win. If you lose games, you get de-ranked and can play with more suitable players closer to your actual skill level. If you keep winning, then it will get harder and harder until you rise to your level of incompetence.
I didn't like it too much at first, but I realized after sticking with it that the game is really quite amazing and really fun!
