1000xRESIST... It's a game about mothers, and mothers that come after them. It's a game about... moving forwards, keeping the past in mind, while moving on from it. It's a game about life, and... its many complexities.

The short version is, if you like good stories, then play this game. It'll meet your needs.

The long version... It's a bit hard to explain 1000xRESIST, especially without going into plot details. Here goes though.

The world has ended. A mysterious deadly plague took over the world, and now you live in a place called 'The Orchard', an environment underground that keeps you safe from said plague. You're Watcher, a sister who serves dutifully to the ALLMOTHER. You make discoveries and find yourself on the path of no return.

The game tells its story in an... unorthodox manner, to put it lightly. You're never really getting the full picture at any point, only small bits and pieces of it. When you do though, does it make sense? Well, no, not really, it's difficult to truly understand what happened. Is that a bad thing though? No. There's a joy in ambiguity and being open to interpretation.

What exactly happened in 1000xRESIST is something I cannot say. It's complex and there were many, many moving pieces, but I think that's the beauty of it. You can interpret the events that transpired, the characters, all of it in your own way.

Right, so, now, the other stuff. The voice-acting is definitely something the game and the talent should be lauded for. The amount of emotion conveyed they conveyed was simply just fantastic. They all portrayed the characters quite well.

The music was good too. I didn't pay too much attention to it, but it added a lot to the experience. There were also certain standouts.

The gameplay itself... wasn't the best, if I'm being honest. It just boils down to running around the levels, talking to people and getting lost sometimes, mainly getting lost. Look, I mean, it was fine, it's small, but it's just a quick complaint.

The game isn't perfect by any means, it has its flaws. But, I do think it's a story worth seeing. I enjoyed it, and if you enjoy nice stories and don't mind unorthodox storytelling, I'm sure you will too. Hekki Grace/10
