Early Access Review
Runs silky smooth on loonix natively unlike most linux builds so there's no need for proton. The game's quite fun and multiplayer is a great addition, though it would be nice if there was a server browser/lobby system instead of having to add people on steam to play.

Legitimately one of the best games I've ever played. Everything in the game from the artstyle, worldbuilding, story, and music is top-notch.

There's a ton of replay value too with different endings, party members, skills, and entire character interactions that can be completely different depending on the choices you make. You can be locked out of recruiting people or progressing certain storylines akin to old school rpgs like Morrowind did. It's refreshing to see a modern rpg where choices actually hold weight rather than making sure everyone has the same linear and tailored cookie cutter experience like they would in an amusement park.

The save/time mechanic also does a great job of inducing a challenge without making it too overbearing or annoying, ensuring you have more than enough time to explore the world and have fun. I wouldn't recommend playing on easy mode since it lets you save anywhere at anytime, and I feel that would ruin the fun quite a bit.

Really the only complaint I can even think of is some of the character interactions being a little obtuse, but it's not super common and I don't hold it against the game too much since it adds a ton of replay value. For example not fighting a certain monster at the very start locks you out of recruiting a character for the entire run, and there's no way to re-initiate the fight if you missed it.

Overall I'd say the game is well worth picking up, especially with the recent update that added more content to the story (which honestly already felt pretty fleshed out even without it, but it's a great addition regardless).

The game was good enough to make me crack a smile and feel nostalgic for the older days of facebook with friends from school while growing up, but unfortunately it only goes downhill from there.

The plot isn't very interesting with it dragging on in the latter half, but the worst part is the characters thinking in weird black/white extremes and making very little sense with the choices they make and things they say. You don't have the input to actually change how anyone feels and come off as the bad guy even while being pretty reasonable.

If that wasn't bad enough the game is actually hardcoded to give you the bad ending on your first playthrough no matter what. What's even the point of trying to pretend like the player has any choice at all then? It makes the entire game feel like a waste of time and forces you to replay through everything, but this time you magically have the power to change opinions to the extreme that favors you.

I think it's worth picking up for the old social media gimmick, but don't expect a good plot or a good ending.

Certified hood classic.

I have vague memories of playing this back in my days of downloading random rpgmaker games, it was nice to experience it again all this time later with a fresh pair of eyes.

Pretty fun game, but it can be harder to beat runs as you unlock a variety of jokers with niche applications instead of having a smaller pool of high impact ones. I also found it can be hard to beat other decks/challenges without help from outside resources teaching you different tricks/strategies.

It's basically a reverse rouguelite where the game gets harder overtime after you keep beating it instead of the game getting easier to play.
