Early Access Review
Bringing the game design philosophies of Deep Rock Galactic to the survivor-like game genre is genius. What isn't to like about simple controls, destructible environments, and loads of currency and XP being thrown your way? For me, not much, honestly. Difficulty scaling can be an issue with similar games, but with practice and an understanding of your character's and weapons' strengths and limitations, some dives can become a real breeze to finish. Over time, you unlock more challenging dives and specific missions related to different parts of your build. If you pay attention to the achievements you'll also be rewarded. Most of them are tied to some pretty crazy unlockables that stack really well with a variety of builds you'll discover along the way, too.

So what's actually not to like? Well, this clearly caters to fans of Vampire Survivors and Deep Rock Galactic (Rock and Stone), so if those aren't your thing this probably won't change your mind. If I had to complain about something, due to the camera angle and enemy designs, sometimes the hitboxes don't feel perfect. Semi-frequently, you'll take damage whether you think you should have or not. Also, not all weapons are created equal, some will absolutely destroy everything in your path, yet many others take a significant amount of practice to master. Learning and practice are really what gaming's about though. In the end, it's about balance, and if you upgrade anything enough, eventually you'll blast your way to the bottom. Every bullet counts!
