Upon first loading into the game, my mouse became locked to the top left corner of the screen. I was only able to resolve this issue by plugging a controller in and not using it (peak troubleshooting) BUT this isn't the problem I have with the game.

"Did I just kill a man? Forgive Me Father..... Two" -- Priest

I am a big fan of the DOOM franchise and thought this game would wonderfully peak this interest--needless to say, it did... and then it lost it almost immediately after. This game has the same feel as one of those interactive exhibits you see at a historical museum: it's only fun when everything around it isn't--which, unfortunately, isn't the case here. The story is choppy and the storytelling is choppier, introduced first with a cutscene and then sprinkled about the map in incomprehensible little snippets of text. This may sound fine if you only care for the gameplay but boy would you be wrong.

The gameplay is... boring. You move like your holy water was laced with cocaine, easily able to dodge enemies and gun them down with little thought or skill--that is, until the game decides that the hardest possible fight would just be to spawn a horde directly on top of you. The fights are uninspired and lack the creativity that a DOOMlike needs to be interesting.

The art is great and the mechanics are satisfying but unfortunately the actual game doesn't quite make the cut.

The flickering lights are a little excessive, sometimes nauseating because it happens so frequently throughout the game. There is no real strategy, as other reviews have pointed out, and the game can get a little repetitive and boring.

To add more strategy, I wish you had the option to not pick the cards you have on the table, doing something else like drawing from the deck instead. This could add a little more chance to the game because you would have a 50/50 chance of either drawing a safe card or a death card, thus making you choose between certainty or luck and making it seem less like the odds are stacked against you.

There's a good concept here and if they added some tweaking to the gameplay (and the ability to turn the flickering lights off) I believe this could become a great game.

looking up THE FINALS nets you a whole lotta YAMMERING about how the game flopped, nobody plays it, teammates disconnecting yada yada yada.. THE PEAK-ALS is nothin like what these SWEATS are BLABBERING about. Unless you are playing ranked bank it then yeah, don't *bank* on keeping your random teammates around for long...

the only complaint I have is that the team types got whittled down to three in quick cash (only steamrollers, kingfish, and live wires), and when I google the reason for it, all I get are these complainers YAPPING about how bad the game is because they simply can't get good.
