Yakuza

Yakuza (ヤ ク ザ, や く ざ?) Is a traditional form of organized crime in Japan, the groups of which occupy a leading position in the criminal world of the country. Yakuza members are also known as “gokudo” (極 道 ок gokudo :). In literature and the press, the yakuza or its individual groups are often called the "Japanese mafia" or "borokudan" (Japanese я 暴力 bo: ryokudan). Yakuza is based on the values ​​of the patriarchal family, the principles of unquestioning submission to the boss and strict observance of the set of rules (mafia code), for violation of which an inevitable punishment is provided. Stability and durability of the Yakuza clans provide both specific connections between the boss and his subordinates, and the preservation of horizontal ("fraternal") relations between ordinary members of the group.
