It's about time we give out the second awarding of POW! This week there were definitely some great plays, but there's really no competition when the first ever smoke kill achieved by an M4aBun member occurred yesterday.

Therefore, the distinction of Player of the Week #2 goes to....

Pork Bun! (Sam)

Congratulations to Pork Bun! Hopefully everyone gets a chance to view the play in question, which is certainly a unforgettable moment in M4aBun history. Pork Bun will also be the first member to receive the honor of holding the M4aBun-branded M4a1-s Nitro skin. We'll get that you as soon as possible!

Lastly, an important note for all members: In lieu of Pork Bun's smoke kill, it's important to keep in mind that none of our gameplay from your own perspective is guaranteed to be recorded (since Hot Dog Bun is the only one currently recording). The demos provided for your last 8 games are only 32-tick and don't capture voice. If you would like to guarantee your perspective is recorded (and in 64-tick), at the beginning of the game (like during the warmup), open your console and type record [demo_name]. It's that simple. If you want to view your own high-quality recorded demos, type demoui and to play them type playdemo [demo_name]. And of course, if you had a great play that I didn't manage to capture, I can work with you to get the demo file from you. And don't worry, Pork Bun. We'll still make sure your smoke kills gets the highlight it deserves!

Side Note: When using this method, your own voice won't be recorded in the demo. To change that, you need to use the console command: voice_loopback 1. Unfortunately, this has the side effect of playing your own voice back to you during the game, which can make it hard to talk. If you would prefer not to deal with that, then you just won't have your own voice in your recording. I may be able to take the audio from my own recording (that includes your voice) and sync it to your gameplay, but obviously that's more of a hassle.

Player of the Week #1

Our top contenders for POW this week were Bunicus with his double knife kill and MapleBun with his last round smoke defuse.

While Bunicus certainly impressed with his back-to-back knife kills in a single round (as well as an additional knife kill earlier in the game), what must be taken into account is the impact these kills had on the game. Unfortunately, that is where his candidacy for POW falls short. Our team was already winning by a large margin, and in the round in question, he had the assistance of his teammates who were distracting the enemy. Not to mention most of the team was still alive at the end of the round.

With that said, MapleBun's play took place in the final round of the game with a 14-15 scoreline and in a 1v1 situation. With his team watching on anxiously, MapleBun threw down a smoke and began to defuse the bomb in the face of the enemy. In perhaps the most nerve-wracking moment of the week, he succesfully defused the bomb while taking fire under a rain of bullets. His quick thinking made the difference between a tie and a loss, and it is for that reason that the Player of the Week must go to...
