you can only buy from the steam store not sell.
i have over 2500 market transactions but I don't want this.

Anyway, why bother to give XP to in-game purchase?
Buy game - get's xp, if you so need them
each time you register the key to a game or buy a new game, you get 1XP. could do the same when you buy or sell any article in the steam store as charts, icons etc
just need to break even thats not too hard.
because it would mean a good game count
...This is pretty much being done with the "power Player" badge (have no clue what its called for lower levels), that gives you XP for every owned game on Steam.
"Power Player" (100+ games owned) gets me 383 XP for 172 Games owned.
Thats way better than what you suggest, so why even bother ?
