Undetectable Hacks - How will Valve handle these in matchmaking?
I was playing on a Valve Hightower server and this guy came in and started headshotting everyone. We tried to kick him but he was able to evade the kicks. A quick Google of his STEAM ID and below is what came up - he's a blatant cheater! So the next question is with such a rich history of cheating, how is this guy still not VAC banned? Valve should look into this as an unreliable cheat-detecting system can undermine the success of matchmaking.

looks like VAC cannot detect all the hacks

I am worried about mm now......

VAC cannot detact LMAOboX premium because each version of the hack has a diffrent signature, If each one has a diffrent signature it will be near impossable. (you can see from my profile and my VAC ban for you using a FoV unlocker on singleplayer black ops 2 :geel:).

Apparently, it's an old exploit that works on TF2's version of VAC but not on CSGO's.

then valve will have to update tf2's vac.
but then i'm sure that votekicks will solve the issue, unless the whole team are full of hackers.
i hope they give us the option to leave the match if there is a whole team of hackers in the game, but then it will be easily exploited. (maybe a vote leave becuz of hackers or something like that where the whole team leaves).
if it gets too bad, i will take the few hours ban, but that will be pretty annoying

Could you elaborate on this? Is TF2's VAC somehow outdated?

We've already seen this in CSGO. That game still struggles with hackers, and i'm sure when the competitive scene hits TF2 the hacker community will flourish, unfortunately. The good thing is TF2 is free to play, so hackers might not care so much if they get banned.

I think what we need is some sort of overwatch ban thing, much like CSGO's competitive.-

I wonder if valve ever looks at violation reports for suspected hackers?
It seems there is no manual ban on undetected vac hackers, even if they got reported numerous times.

That's my point. The CS:GO anti-cheat system is not perfect but at least the CS:GO devs recognized that VAC alone was not enough and added Overwatch. On the other hand, TF2 devs have yet to address the cheating issue and seem to believe that VAC will do the job, when we have examples like Max Box and Uncle Boozy - both of whom have a wealth of evidence that they have cheated stacked against them - continue to roam around scot-free. What kind of message is Valve sending, and what is stopping these same people from cheating in matchmaking?

Well, a paywall for MM will probably help solve this. I know most hacker accounts are f2p. Granted, not all are. So we may get a small amount oh hackers in MM. But it won't be nearly as much as you find in Pubs.

another good way is to ban the ip from playing tf2 again, wont be 100% effective, but i bet most of the hackers are kids who know nothing about networking

This dude isnt hacking. He is just good he has 4000+ hours in the game

Valve is definitely looking at this post.

Put it in slow motion. Either he is hacking or this replay was broken.

With all due respect, I have 4800+ hours and I can tell you that this person was using something called a "silent aimbot", where he had control of the viewmodel and crosshair, but the cheat client did the aiming for him.

A paywall is the bare minimum. It will stop f2p cheaters (who most likely use free version of cheat client which VAC is able to detect), but the problem - as evident in CS:GO matchmaking - lies with those like Uncle Boozy, who use premium version of the cheat which VAC is unable to detect.
My biggest concern right now is Valve's inaction against these blatant cheaters. They've become so emboldened that they are openly mocking VAC and advertising the cheats on both YouTube and Steam groups, and I am concerned about the message being sent out here.

If you have time to go through the comments in these videos, two things may come to your attention. One is that these cheaters simply don't take VAC as a threat because they seem to have enough knowledge of how it works that they are confident of being able to evade it; and two is that this same confidence is attracting buyers, who see these videos of people getting away with cheating and become so firmly of the belief that they can do the same.
Idealy, TF2 should get some sort of Overwatch system along with MM, but if that is going to take time, I think Valve need to consider manually reviewing extreme cases like these, where the evidence isn't lacking.

I've met prenium LmaObOX users with a nice profile and really expensive items, a paywall won't stop these scums

it will if valve manually track them and block their IP from ever using steam again (which I guess it will be easier with the few players that will be in this competitive beta testing
