Except afterburn has a dozen things that can put it out, and a healed class can VERY quickly kill a Pyro.

The build rate mediguns use is only halved once someone reaches 142.5% total hp.
The quick fix takes them up to 125% because it has half of the +50% the kritz and stock have, which means first of all, the quick fix means the opposition have less health.
The second, and most important thing is, both the quick fix and the kritzkrieg have the +25% build rate. If you switch heal targets or get your pocket to self damage, or just heal people in combat, that build rate is going to be exactly the same as the quick fix. AKA, do your job as medic and the build rate problem is gone.

When that fails, you get a teammate to go and kill their medic to buy you some time.

You're not going to try to build at max rate in rollout or during a fight, yet the quick-fix will get the max charge rate no matter what.

"Just kill them" is something you're going to try to do, regardless of what they're using so that's a completely moot point.

Dropping a medic is its own reward in itself, so why do they need an additional reward of an even larger uber advantage?

Or the reverse case where say a sniper drops a medic at full charge but his team lacks the numbers to push. The dropped medic can simply pick up his old medigun and the sniper pick is rendered practically worthless.

If you're going to reward people for doing what they should be doing, why don't you give people 5 seconds of guaranteed crits and uber on kill?

It's more of the problem of having way too much going for it with small playercounts. It builds uber faster than every single medigun except for vaccinator, heals the fastest and allows the medic to reach the midfight at the same time as a scout. In addition, the lower playercount means that there's less damage to outdamage the megaheal, making it almost as good as stock uber except for cases such as backstabs, sticky traps and headshots.
