This is a micspam server. Mutefagging/Talkfagging is not allowed.
Anyone caught doing so will end up being shown the door.

We play fun (custom/gimmick) maps on Fridays and conventional standard/community maps on Saturdays. We also occasionally play on Sundays or any other day or time provided people show up.

The server generally starts to fill up at 8pm EST / 7pm CST / 5pm PST/ 1am GMT.

Our micspam codec (vaudio_celt_high) plays files at 44kHz, 44kbps.

sv_audiocodec has been set to Steam voice

sv_audiocodec is now set to SILK (the steam audio codec). Previously we were using CELT, an older codec that allowed a client to use voice_inputfromfile to play audio.

Switching to SILK means that voice_inputfromfile will no longer work. If you haven't already, you will need to set up something like Soundpad, Virtual Audio Cable, or VoiceMeeter to micspam.

This was done for two reasons:
a) SLAM is now defunct with the 64 bit update.
b) The CELT codec no longer works on Linux clients.

Who gives a shit about Linux?

Emilio, for one. We also have a few other regulars who are using Linux.

Doesn't HLDJ still work? Can't we use that instead?

HLDJ hasn't been updated since 2011 (and SLAM hasn't been updated since 2017).
This is a not-so-gentle nudge to get you to update your micspam setup to something modern.

If people are having trouble migrating their existing setup over, we can look into setting up a VAC tutorial of some kind.
