- Age of Wonder. 1 has the best solo campaign. Age of Wonder: Shadow Magic has the best multiplayer. Both have several coop scenarios.
- Heroes of Might and Magic (whichever one, but I think 3 is the best. Not sure it is on Steam, but it sure is on gog).
Mordheim could work too, but it is mostly one skirmish battle after another. Not much plot there, and no coop, only PvP.
Telepath Tactics is inspired by FFTA, so it could work. I has almost no random element.
I haven't played it, but I heard Grotesque Tactics was in the same vein as FFTA.
Valkyrie Chronicles is pretty good, but its free move system, and its "order" system make it play pretty differently.
Maybe the Agarest games, but I haven't played them either.
The Disgaea games could do too, but they are very grindy.
You also have the old Shining Force games on Steam (via a megadrive emulator).
You could also play "PC Tactical games" like X(-)Com or Jagged Alliance2. They are more complex and less RPGish than FFTA though (the new XCOM are more RPGish than JA2 which is more than the older X-COM).
In this vein, I would also recommend Chaos Gate (on gog.com) if you like 40K and Silent Storm and Silent Storm Sentinels.
Fallout Tactics can work too, even though it butchers the fallout licence.
If you want more RPGish games, you could try shadowrun, or Divinity: Original Sin, which also has great coop.
Telepath tactics seems to be what i am looking for, sweet.
Shining force GBA were a good experience to, really hard at what i remember but i might jump back into it.
I might also add some few of your games to my wish list.
