Star Wars Contrition: SWG & NWN RP

Star Wars Contrition is a roleplaying group based on using Neverwinter Nights and Star Wars Galaxies as our platforms.

We strive to offer the most comprehensive and detailed environments for roleplaying in the Star Wars Legends universe, utilizing a total conversion mod for Neverwinter Nights, and a modified SWGEmu server for Star Wars Galaxies.

In Star Wars Galaxies, travel to 10 ABY where the reborn Emperor builds on Thrawn's victories to thrust the New Republic off Coruscant and back into a costly war. Join a community on Tatooine as we watch the fireworks of war from the surface of a desert world, where one day everyone will be part of Galactic Events.

In Neverwinter Nights, explore the Galaxy shortly after the events of Knights of the Old Republic II, where the Republic is failing due to poor infrastructure and an Imperium remnant from Revan and Malak's Empire aims to forsake the Sith and become a new powerful militant force in the Galaxy. All while the Republic and Imperium fight one final war, criminals run rampant, and vigilantes have organized into a powerful Consortium to put them down.

Ten Years!

Hello, everyone! It's been a long, long time. Many of you probably don't really even remember Contrition. It's been ten years today since the project was officially launched, and served a brief but interesting career both in and out of my hands.

I wanted to write something just to commemorate the adventures we had on that server for everyone still sticking around in this group. I wanted to express gratitude for everyone who joined and for the interesting stories we weaved; but I also wanted to express regret that I could not keep the server going for very long. I was always chasing something bigger or better rather than focusing on building a strong foundation, and realizing how capable Contrition was.

For those wondering, I do not believe I'll bring Contrition back to Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition for the forseeable future. I know there are now other Star Wars servers on NWN that are doing just fine on their own. To achieve what I'd like to achieve with Star Wars roleplaying would involve a lot of work on Neverwinter Nights that I unfortunately don't have the time or energy for these days.

I hope everyone is doing well, getting by, having fun, and living their lives to the fullest. In the meantime, I have been working to fulfill a dream of mine in creating a genuine roleplay-capable server for Star Wars Galaxies, unlike my last attempt long ago. I hope to have learned from the mistakes I made with Contrition to help this one be a long lived and fascinating adventure. If anyone is interested in joining me, feel free to message me.

Hello Contritionites!

In February of 2012, Star Wars: Contrition launched with a shaky beginning and a rocky future, but it's always been our goal to try and provide you with quality content as best we can. Contrition's primary server has been revived since last May, and has remained online and fresh thanks to the help of content creators willing to help balance, expand, and polish the module as we know it. I'd like to personally thank everyone who's had a hand in keeping Contrition alive.

In light of the news that SWGEmu is now supporting third party servers and at last removed the harsh restrictions that made them difficult to play, Contrition Administration has decided to open up an SWGEmu server alongside the NWN server, in hopes to expand our available content to our players, as well as attract new players.

For any of those following our administration team, you may know that it's been a dream to host an SWG server since 2006, with several attempts in the past, usually foiled by the aformentioned restrictions, as well as the very sparse gameplay due to the incomplete state of the emulator servers. Today however, it is safe to say that SWGEmu's Core3 is 99% complete, and a force to be reckoned with.

While there are some more mature private servers out there, Contrition is aiming to bring something different to the table. We're looking to provide one of the first premium Roleplay-oriented servers to the community, bringing along with us a high standard for quality administration, as well as a promise of server stability and longevity. Contrition is here to stay in one form or another, and with SWG, we're putting RP first over anything else; our server has been modified to make it easier to do skill progression, develop cities, engage in the GCW, and more, with additional content provided by ModTheGalaxy.com using assets from later versions of the game.

Thank you to everyone who's had an interest in playing our servers and been with us through thick and thin. It's hard to believe the server went online four years ago, and while we've had some rough roads to traverse and many problems set before us, we keep strong in the hopes that we can provide fun and entertaining Star Wars Legends experiences!
