@eliseo.allen - I picked UEFI. Still didn't do diddly.
Any guesses here would be much appreciated! :)
Halps?
* Your USB stick is MBR-partititoned
* Your USB stick contains a single FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32 partition
* Your USB stick contains the full contents of SteamOSInstaller.zip - e.g. a dist/ folder, a pool/ folder, a firmware/ folder, and so on
* In your UEFI firmware, as boot device, you're selecting the UEFI version of your USB stick to boot from (it may be listed as a hard disk), NOT the BIOS version of the USB stick, nor a legacy device like "USB-FDD"
In the end I've downloaded the "Ye Olde Steam OS" installer and that's working first time, no problem. Really appreciate the work that's gone into the Ye Olde Steam OS image.
Recheck your MB setting, default installer will give exactly those errors if you try to boot it MBR mode. It only has binaries for UEFI grub boot loader.
This fixed it! I went into the UEFI settings and had to change it from 'Windows UEFI' to 'Other OS'. It works now! Thank you so much! :D
I had the Same problem and couldn't test thank you so much ^_^
