AMD graphics driver to 14.9
Per that, you can find....
Supported AMD cards under Catalyst 14.9[support.amd.com]
Supported Nvidia cards under Nvidia 343.22[www.nvidia.com]
So, in practice, checking the release notes of the latest SteamOS release, then checking that versions page on Nvidia or AMD's site is the most to-the-point method. Just google "Nvidia 343.22 linux driver" and you'll find the release notes. This would be a nice post to sticky if* we had a guides section :)
I'm going to start making small guides under the Steam for Linux community hub, as that may fit as close to this one as possible. Once created, they will show up under my profile too.
Nvidia anything 400 series + if im not mistaken... Drivers can be iffy with the latest cards but iirc most issues have been addressed...
