The repo for the old SteamOS releases still seems to be there, though, so you might be able to recreate it.
I still have the old VaporOS ISOs up if you want to try that: https://github.com/sharkwouter/vaporos/releases
This is the only partial archive I've been able to find. I hope someone has all of the images and is willing to share for archival purposes.
Edit: I got SteamOS 2.0 Brewmaster installed on VMWare and was able to get everything working after tweaking the OS to meet the requirements of the modern Steam client. I am surprised it wasn't more of a hassle.
I'm curious what the Clockwerk beta was like.

I do have somewhere a working installation of Clockwerk made with a combination of their packages and (when needed) Debian, but it was nothing too special, except maybe that it was cool to see "Clockwerk" on system info page.
In any case I've uploaded the very last images of Alchemist and Brewmaster on:

That's all I had, no previous versions.

Now for OS3, should be one of the BEST linux OS's ever created, along with Mx & Mint. Yet how long it is TAKING the worlds largest video game company to release it to the public is almost as embarrassing as the abysmal work they did on OS2...really steam, are you being PAID to delay the release of 3 by the big two nasties? Mac/MicroSoft? Because otherwise it would be a real puzzle to wonder why you have dropped the ball so hard so far on this one!
Sometime it is good to remember.
You are comparing console experiences vs full fledged os and this is not a good idea.
I agree about the os being preserved in a working form in the internet archive.
I agree too on taking a long time for steam os 3 pc.
But debugging take a long time.
In those case you can try 3rd party distro like nobara, bazzite or chimera os.
