Steamos update the video drivers automatically
Hello everyone,
as the title I was wondering if I can install the graphics driver automatically, without go and download and operate from the command line. The operating system that use SteamOS 2.98 is the latest one, while as far as the drivers are to 367.27 version. Can anyone tell me if there is such a possibility and how to go about? Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer me :)

The GPU driver are already updated when you use the SteamOS update feature within the BPM settings menu. However, how up-to-date the drivers are from there is dependant on when Valve updates those drivers in SteamOS's repository.

is there any way to let him see the driver? I also tried to follow the guide found here always working on the community through the terminal, however, the end of installation gave me fatal error and now I find myself grub does not work even more, and if the recovery does not see me and I have more windows 10 go to work on from windows cd terminal to restore it (I steamos dual boot with windows 10, windows mean abbandoare progressively as the games come out on linux). You know if in the future steam adds an option to download the video driver whenever a new one comes out without making a terminal?

Valve will push new drivers to SteamOS on their own time - you don't need a terminal. Any manual updates are likely to break Valve's automated ones and cause more work for you later so it's best to just leave it alone.

pls don't do those driver upgrades on steamos unless you know how linux works. if needed, a steamos update will provide new drivers. not knowing what you're doing will most likely cause problems and because of lack of knowledge, very little change of correcting your mistakes.

Realized, more than anything else I wanted to have the latest drivers as on windows to always have the best possible and now I have pretty big problems with performance saint row 4, and I also wanted to see if new drivers were resolved these problems. However, it is not the first time I use linux, I have already had previous experiences, I chose because I wanted steamos one focused on games system because for work I use windows being that the programs that I use on Linux do not work. However I will follow your advice and I'll let that steam update the driver, in the hope that (in my opinion) always updated kernel releases and video driver to the latest relase, in many many important updates are also in the kernel. Thank you for answering me and taking the time :)

I have couple of 60Gb ssd for just tinkerig different OS perfomance. Speed between SteamOS and Ubuntu are quite similar so get a spare ssd and install Ubuntu and latest drivers and see the results.
This way you dont have to touch SteamOS.
