In your case (black screen), you should try this:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/wiki/Opting-into-SteamOS-Beta
This said, if you follow the instructions provided in the link in my previous post, you will gain access to a fullscreen version of the terminal, not matter where you actually are (black screen). You don't need to have access to the desktop to do it. This is what ALT+F2 does, but don't try it for the moment. You will have to wait for the next SteamOS-beta.
or may be latest steamos comes with black [ mess : a ] that is still not published..after one other time-limit [ bomb ] has passed... these guys adore hl : for the money that gives for free..
beside that .. i "found" that it is impossible to get this page when using steam [ under win ] ..
i did several search with steamos ... it never shows a page like those of games .. that could help for those using it ... to report bugs.. or others using windows ..
I’m getting the fatal error loop now after the install of beta repo.
How would that be any different than just running expert install?
Auto install it's good for me but must format your Hard Disc
I don't try beta
Neither method works. Beta has a bug which is causing fatal error loop.
