Steam Play on SteamOS
With the new client update Steam Play is available but I can't see it on Setup, features. I have the current compatible titles but I want to enable all my library to test other games on it. Am I the only one with this problem?

EDIT: To enable Steam Play for all library and choose Proton version you have to do it via desktop client.

1- Going to desktop
2- In a terminal run the following:
sudo -i -u steam
pkill steam
steam -nobigpicture --> to avoid return to BPM
3- Edit options in desktop steam client

It looks like if you make sure your config file looks like this it might enable it for you. "LastConfigstoreUploadTime" I put there as reference for where the other settings go in case they don't show up :)

I'm not on SteamOS, so you may need to do some searching to make sure you're looking in the correct places.

/home/[steam?]/.steam/steam/config/config.vdf

"LastConfigstoreUploadTime" "1536031490"
"Tools"
{
"enable" "1"
}
"ToolMapping"
{
"0"
{
"name" "proton_37"
"config" ""
"Priority" "75"
}
}

With that said, even Big Picture mode on desktop doesn't seem to make these options available yet either.

Thanks! doing this couldn't break my system when a new update arrives?

the work around most people on steamos do is go to desktop mode and start steam from there. you'll get the 'desktop' gui and there you can manage all proton settings you want.

No, that shouldn't break your system. It's simply where the options you've chosen reside. IE. In the desktop client it would be the file used for "Steam > Settings".

Your method works but I don't know how to change between diferents protons versions.

I don't like this way but it looks it's the only solution for now.

If you are going to use "steam -nobigpicture", you may as well download a normal Linux distro... Steam is using Debian 8 Jessie which is old stable...

Do I just add that to my config.vdf or do I replace my config.vdf with that?

Add this to your config, minus the "LastConfigstoreUploadTime" line, that's just for reference as to where the option is found. Paste the rest directly under the line that has "LastConfigstoreUploadTime".

Steam Play option is not avaliable to config in BPM, going desktop client is only to edit this. My steam machine is only for TV and steamos works just fine.

When you move to desktop mode you must kill the current steam session (running in backgorund), open a terminal and run the following:

sudo -i -u steam
pkill steam

Once done you can start the steam desktop client like this: steam -nobigpicture
