Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon
Can Steam OS be installed on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon?
I have tried multiple times and it doesn't even get to the first install screen.
When the laptop boots from USB, it just shows a blank screen. I have used 2 different USB sticks and downloaded the ISO twice in case it was either of those. But it seems that the X1 and ISO aren't compatible.
I also tried setting it to UEFI only and "legacy" only as well.
My dad has this laptop and just wants to play simple games on it.

Any ideas to get this working?

You certainly can. I'm using Steam on Ubuntu now. In fact Ubuntu is the other recommended OS for most Linux games on Steam.

Once installed you can simply set steam to always start on boot up and in big picture mode. It will be pretty much a steam machine but with a full desktop environment and expanded capability from the get go.
