Steam OS problems launching games and streaming after install. I found a Fix.

Hi guys I did a expert install of Steam OS on a alienware alpha I3 and ran into this issue that I had a nightmare finding a fix for, so I figure I'll post it here. I installed the steam os and could not stream or launch games. When launching a game I would get 3 bars blinking until it booted me back to the launch game option and if i tried to stream from my pc I was streaming from would launch the game but nothing would happen on the steam os and if I tried to hit stream again the pc would go to big picture mode and leave the game open but never launching it on the Steam OS. My fix was my locale was wrong. It needed to be en_US.UTF8 mine by default was en_US.UTF-8. I don't know what the difference is but changing that fixed the machine and now it plays all my games and streams just fine.

I believe the fix is get into terminal, set a password, then type sudo nano /etc/default/locale, change the locale to en_US.UTF8 then ctrl+x to exit and then " y " to save the change.
Reboot the system and enjoy gaming. This is for USA gaming as far as I know so I hope that helps somebody that was having this issue like I was because it was a nightmare to figure out.
