There is no partition tool delivered, so you can only destroy your whole 1TB HDD.
What you can do and which might work is as following:
Backup your important files from the system which is installed.
use the SteamOS installer to install SteamOS on your hdd removing the previous installed system.
install gparted as deb package or use a recovery system to shrink your /home partition.
install your second system and configure your boot loader
