REQUEST: Construction/Research Time Mod
Howdy, I am hoping that either someone will make or show me where I need to go in the files to edit the construction and research times. I've played this game over and over on Breakdown and normal versions and I find it highly annoying that in every game you're expected to wait a horribly long time for upgrades from the library even with a scholar in the house. So I was wondering if someone could make an instant build and reasearch mod for the game. Major thanks to anyone who contributes to this idea as it will make replaying the game a lot easier and allow me to focus more on my characters than whats going on at home.

OOO nice idea. I think i know where. Before i say, let me double check that it is what i think it is. Plus..i dont have breakdown yet (Hoping for Xmas sale). But everything should be similiarish.

Id say id put it in my mod but yeh, its for regular only, not breakdown..well not yet.

Breakdown didn't add any new research items so it is entirely possible that whatever works for the base game will work for Breakdown... but thats just a guess.

Err fair point. Still though. The George Romero mod has two separate files for the base game and for breakdown. So that leads me to believe there are some differences. Not entirely sure though.
Will have to look into it a bit.

I believe the Romero Mod on the UL forums in the PC Mod section already addresses this.

I would take a look at the activities in the facilities file: gamedata\libs\class3\rts\facilities.xml

It was facilities.xml and I did manage to make the mod... however when I begin using it everything works fine until I try to build the library... suddenly the game crashes. So someone with more coding experience please try to make this mod as I apparently have screwed something up. - Reason: Facilities can not be instant as they require at least a few seconds to acquire whether they will have a scav quest connected. Fixed by converting all facilities to 1min.

IT'S... IT'S... All I ever dreamed it could be and more! OK seriously... mission accomplished. I finished the mod and it makes EVERYTHING take 1min to finish... research... foods... buildings... plants growing... bombs... upgrades... etc. Now a bigger problem... how the hell do I send this to yall???

FYI being able to learn ALL research in 10min instead of 10hrs... is AWESOME! The whistling land mines are cool as hell.
OK found a snag here... hopefully this one is able to be worked around... With this mod installed... when you go to find the RV the game will crash when you get there. Also even when I removed the mod and went to the RV... when I reinstalled the mod the RV icon was missing. So this mod while aboslutely awesome... may have to wait till I hit level 5 or at least find a level I'm ready to sit down on since I won't be able to complete it.

Tell us what you changed and we can copy it or upload to nexus mods and give us the link. Also why not 1 sec cooldown instead of 1 min?
