...let the roasting commence...

Hey all!

Just a quick reminder that Gamesoc elections will be held this Monday, when I will finally be relinquishing my reign of tyranny over the society. If you can turn up this Monday 22nd March by 7.30pm at the Munroe-Fox lecture theatre with your SU cards, that'd be great, as we need enough of the society members to turn up as possible to prevent deratification by the evil SU. To reiterate, PLEASE TURN UP! :)

There are three positions currently available, which any Games Society member can stand for: President, Secretary and Treasurer.

The President is responsible for ensuring the Games Society constitution is up to date, attending monthly SU General Meetings (if 3 are missed in a row, then the society is deratified) and acting as a figurehead. They should ideally be interested in all Games, and be reasonably sociable too.

The Secretary is responsible for sending messages to society members, maintaining the Steam and Facebook groups, and helping organise any trips or events that occur in conjunction with the President.

The Treasurer has to ensure membership fees are collected, and sign off on any expenditure on the society from the budget.

Being a society committee member will be a great thing to add to what might otherwise be a bare looking CV or Covering Letter when applying for a job after uni, and shows that you're hard-working and interesting. Even if you don't have any past experience in the role, there are training sessions to ensure you're up to date with all the paperwork and know-how.

However, if you do want to run OR vote, you must be a paid member of the society.
