Many games have binkw32.dll and bik video files, but I never seen radtools.exe included with game. The dll is only a player used by game, we can't use it to convert the video. Bink compressor is available separately for free. The problem is they changing file specification from time to time and replace old version with current, so current version will produce file which can't be played by old dll. New dll doesn't work with Rollcage either, so we need compressor that match file specification used in version 0.9m (as our dll). Redux using bink files from Rollcage Stage II (only branding), fmv support is removed (original Rollcage doesn't use bik-s at all). I not sure what exactly the compatibility problem is, but for some games there is instruction to set specific options in Bink for the audio to be playable with old dll. But current version of Bink can't even play old video correctly...

The dll is just player for developers. In Rollcage Stage II we have version 0.9m, which is currently used in Rollcage redux too. To convert files we need converter which match the used dll version (or close to it, to be compatible). I don't know exact file name, since the file is missing, I don't know it's separate BINK (as it was for SMACK - SMACKER) or RAD VIDEO TOOLS pack. Later file name is RADTOOLS.EXE or RADVIDEO.EXE, unfortunately same for every version.

I think we need to search RAD*.exe or *BINK*.*, the date should be close to 1999.

Everything depends on Codemonkey if he want to create such additional installer / pack.

Of course I think the full installer should stay as is (if stuck during install we just must know to redownload it).

I thinking of additional patch file for those who already downloaded working copy of any previous release. Not many updates from one version to another, just one as is with the main pack.

I think that installer need additional effort. That's why I say about simple thing.

7z using solid, strong compression, but it require to be installed.
If the archive size will be not much bigger, this can be zip which is most common used.
(Do not use new WinZip which create incompatible files).

But of course installer will be the best :)

I don't know this installer, but if it working with file list it may be even easier to update for next releases.

The exact BINK compressor version which we are searching for is 0.9m (used in game), but also version 0.9n is confirmed to work (I have just dll player).
But I think other old versions (especially below 1.0) may work correctly too. So if someone have the files please let me know.

What about the additional small update pack?
It doesn't need to have installer - just the 7zipped new files.

It match the topic but not exactly, it match the place but not exactly :)
It's not a bug but missing check which may lead to trouble, so maybe it's a bug with not handled situation then... but it's not the Redux or Extreme problem it self, but the installer...
