Can't get past left foot braking
So collectively i've attempted for hours to get past the left foot braking section of rally school and I cant figure out how to get past. The game doesn't clearly tell me what to do and i can't figure out what to do, so how do i get past left foot braking?

It wants you to accelerate around the corner, and also apply the brake hard at the same time once you get past the red cones, until you're a little bit past the corner.

You need to go pretty fast into the curve in front of you, but not as fast as possible, lift off for a little before you hit the red cones or you'll fly off the track. Once you get to the red cones, slam on both the accelerator and brake, but be careful to not lock the wheels with the brakes. You should slow down a lot, even more than you'd need to get through the corner, but before you come close to actually stopping, let go of the brake and accelerate up the hill to the finish.

This will slow you down way too much while you go through the corner, especially for your exit which is unrealistic for what you would actually want to do in a real stage, but it's the only way to get past this part of rally school. If it still fails you, watch the evaluation at the end and don't skip it, to see if you did anything wrong.

Hey, if anyone finds this and is using a controller, bind your brake alone to some other button. The game can't register both sides of the axis at the same time.

Actually, this is a problem with Xinput and the way Xbox controllers work (and controllers that attempt to emulate them so that they can be detected by more games). Xinput requires the two triggers to be under the same axis, so they cancel each other out. Try it in control panel (run "joy.cpl"), you should get the same results. If you have a controller that can use DirectInput (most non-Xbox controllers, such as a DS4) then they should work fine in this regard.

From everything Ive read so far its actually directinput which is causing problems, but ye.

I found a solution that seems to work here: https://www.reddit.com/r/simrally/wiki/wirelessxboxcontroller

My apologies then. The problem appears to be when Xinput devices are used via DirectInput instead, when DirectInput is all the game understands. Many other games have this problem, but DirectInput-only devices do not have this problem.
