R-Dot 7.0! The last "boom headshot"!

Hey all, if you haven’t been reading the forums lately there has been some big news come up. We have announced that this R-Dot (May 14th-15th 2010) will be our last event. Unfortunately this has been building up for a little while and for various reasons we will not be hosting any further events. Now I know a lot of you will have questions about what has happened, but without getting into any details, it has just become difficult to hold our events and be successful so we feel it is best to go out on top with, hopefully, our biggest event ever this May. We are making special efforts in contacting all past R-Dot attendee’s and letting them know this is their last chance to experience a large scale LAN in this province and so far they have been responding with some amazing support.

Event details will be posted soon on our forums for this event as well, so please spread the word to as many people as you can. We are wanting to fill the Conexus Arts Centre with as many gamers as it will hold for an amazing 24 hours of frag action! There are still plenty of spots available for this event, and with the space we have available to us, if people spread the word this will be the greatest LAN party in Saskatchewan history.

We want to thank all our sponsors that have helped us get to where we are at and especially all you gamers that have supported us along the way. You guys are who made these events possible and allowed us to grow. We have always held these events just for you gamers, not for ourselves, or any sponsor. No staff member has ever been paid for his/her time and effort put into an event nor expected it as they wanted to help the gaming community out. These events were held to allow you the opportunity to experience large scale gaming and socialize with fellow gamers in the same city/province you live in. We hope that those of you who have supported us have enjoyed our events, and will come out one last time to close the R-Dot books on a high note. We look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks and unfortunately I couldn’t think of a nerdy version of “Let’s blow the roof off this place!!!”

R-Dot Feb. Poster Contest!

We are needing an R-Dot poster designed, one for each of our events (Meltdown and ChilLAN). We are looking for one that will fit on an 8 1/2 x 11 page and using color. They can be as detailed and graphical as you like, as these posters will be put up all over the city and used for at least the next few years to advertise the biggest LAN party in the entire province.

The poster must contain the R-Dot name, the event name (Meltdown or ChilLAN) and be designed to go with their respective labels (big explosions for Meltdown, Ice for ChilLAN, etc). It is optional if you want to include any local sponsors logo (OTV, Itilian Star, SectorHost, etc) or game logo (CS, CoD, Starcraft) but make sure they aren't too game specific. Example would be using a CS 1.6 guy, but don't play it. It should also include our website address (www.r-dot.org) and our logo "How We Game".

We do not want the poster to contain event dates/times, as these will be mainly used as just advertisement for R-Dot, and not for an upcoming event. We ask that you submit a poster for each type (Meltdown and ChilLAN) so we have don't have 10 posters of one and 2 of another to select from.

We know this is a big task, but the prize for winning this will be complete coverage at your next R-Dot. This will include your entrance fee, 2 pieces of pizza at midnight, breakfast, and 1 Italian Star sandwich for lunch. If you win this (could be 2 winners if need be), all you have to do is show up to the next event and we have you covered. We know you guys have a lot of talent out there, or know a friend you can sucker into doing it for you, so spread the word and be sure to submit your entries!
