First off, I will be going over the current state of the Ohlone Game Developers' Club.

Founded during the Spring Semester of '07 the OGDC has been going strong for over 3 years. It is probably known to a fair amount of you that I, Ryan, the current club president, will be moving away to the Seattle, Washington area after this semester is over. This will leave the presidency vacant. Normally, I would be replaced by the next officer underneath me, but all core members have expressed that this is their last semester at Ohlone as well; those who are still going to be around have expressed no interest in taking up the club's leadership. It is for these reasons that I must nullify the club after this semester.

We had four main goals to fulfill as a club. One of which was to support the Game Development program at Ohlone; those who don't already know this program is no longer exists. Second, was to promote the sharing of knowledge and experience with others, but with the program gone, interest from other students is waning so much to the point that there is little to no interest in what we have to offer. We will still try to offer the remaining members a work-simulated environment and cultivate their growth as much as we can for this semester. Lastly, just because the club may no longer be around doesn't mean we have to stop making games.

Now to go over the club changes for our final semester.

Because I will be busy with preparations for my move and finishing my AA in Multimedia, Dan working full-time and also moving in May, Chris' tutoring job and comic book shop needing more hours from him, we will have to move the club to a more online oriented community. HH-116 will still be open Tues and Thurs from 2:15pm to 5pm for those that want to work, but only occasionally will Dan, Chris, or myself be there.
All assignments will be handed out via online contact with the project leads. The two of you will agree upon a due date and if you prove to be uninterested, inefficient, or slow you will be dropped until you prove yourself otherwise. We are trying to be more like the industry. If you don't have what it takes, come back to us when you do.

The club website will include an assignment list and dropbox.

If you are new to the club or a haven't participated in a while you will need to complete a preliminary assignment in order for us to assess your skill level. If you are interesting in programing you will be given a function to preform, artists will need to draw most likely a character concept from a description, modelers will need to create, texture, and maybe animate from a modeling sheet, musicians will be given a description of what to make sfx or music for, and level designers will need to have the orange box and create a level that can be played in-game.
