In the 1980s, Niton-born footballer Sam Dean returned to his hometown after winning the European Cup and Football Division One with Manchester United. He walked into Tregear Bakery (now named Tregear Pottery) and ordered a loaf of locally grown, pristinely cooked italian herbs and cheese bread.

Meanwhile, a robber born outside of the village (most likely of Pan descent) had come to town and began causing absolute havoc within the village. He robbed the Niton Post Office + stole various samples of rum smuggled into town at the White Lion.

Once Sam walked out of the bakery, he was held at gunpoint by said robber. The robber nicked his bread, but Sam just smiled and shook his head. As he turned away, Sam simply pulled up his socks and put him in a headlock. His gun dropped to the floor, and Sam kicked it away down the hill towards the one way road (where the public conveniences are today). He screamed with all of the might in his vocal chords "NO WRONG'UNS IN THE VILLAGE!" and DDT'd the robber onto the hard, unforgiving concrete - knocking him out instantly. He then two footed the robber for good measure (in real life, it would've been a red). The Niton Faithful rushed out of their thatched houses and exploded into applause, showering Sam with kisses and as much italian herbs and cheese bread as he could carry. They sang in unison "IS THIS A LIBRARY?" to the unconscious robber.

Sam stayed in town for a few more days. Upon seeing so much young talent playing outside Tregear Bakery during his stay, he decided to sign the contract and establish a new football club in the village. He named the club "The Niton Nickers" in memory of the unfortunate incident, ensuring that the town never forget the time a wrong'un came to the village. The club were given the green colours based off of the colour of the herbs on Sam's recovered bread, and have risen up the rankings ever since - eventually expanding into esports with Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
