just a quick update - we are still going on - I haven't forgotten about it :)

Currently one game left in round three and once that is finished we will move forward to Round 4!

Just one game left in round 2ish.. once that is over, we'll start Round 3 - That will start in the modern era.

Nullmaster started the next round of games for us (Thanks Nullmaster)..
so now all games in round 2 are running (or over)..

Actually - now that I see all the first rounders are done, i'll create the second round and then request admin to edit them. That way all in round 2 will be running.

for benny's game, I was waiting for him to reply to an message (or, comes to the site and doesn't reply to my message) before marking it complete. But - he's making moves on other games, so I'll mark this one finished. For the other ones - see, when I start games, i need Admin's help to do the games for me, so I was trying to wait for a few to send all at once. I don't want to be a pain to them

Future games in the tournament won't have World Congress

its my own fault.. I haven't gotten that far in the tech wtih BNW in any other games.. i should have reviewed the upcoming new units in the game lol.

I've just created the last game for round one too... i was waiting for a user to create their GMR ID, which they've done now.. the next game just needs some admin tweaking :)

I found this on civfanatics.. (how to disable world congress). The question I have is.. if I did this on the next saved games - will others have to do this to their own xml files to be able to load and use the saved games? or will it be seamless to them?

Just in case other people find this thread and want the option to disable or remove the World Congress, there is a hidden option for Advanced Setup that adds a "Disable World Congress" option (it also disallows diplomatic victory, of course). You need both expansions to do this I believe. To make this option show up in your Advanced Setup screen, go to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC\Expansion2\Gameplay\XML\GameInfo\CIV5 GameOptions_Expansion.xml

Open CIV5GameOptions_Expansion.xml with Notepad or Notepad++ and you'll see:

<Type>GAMEOPTION_NO_LEAGUES</Type>
<Description>TXT_KEY_GAME_OPTION_NO_LEAGUES</Description>
<Help>TXT_KEY_GAME_OPTION_NO_LEAGUES_HELP</Help>
<Visible>0</Visible>

Change <Visible>0</Visible> to <Visible>1</Visible>
Now when you go to Advanced Setup you'll see an option to "Disable World Congress"

world congress was a non issue for us
