Cheating and smurfing are getting out of control. Playing with soundhacks and aimware has become common, and VAC doesn't exist, and many of the cheaters don't get banned until they manually stream themselves cheating (which happens surprisingly often, but still).

L4D2Center Anticheat is a client-side application that players download and run on their computers to prove they are not cheating.
This approach dramatically widens the scope of detectable cheats in order to provide a cheater-free environment for our small community.

Type !anticheat in game chat to see who is playing with anticheat and who is not.

There will be a testing period to address possible usage issues, and then the anticheat will be mandatory in all l4d2center games.


Answers to potential questions/concerns:

• The anticheat works in all games on l4d2center servers, so it can be used both in pugs and tournament matches. It can't be used on any other server out there. However, more servers may (or may not) support the anticheat in the future.
  
• The anticheat does not block you from joining the game with cheats, it only sends the data to the backend. It is your responsibility to check if you don't have any cheats in your system before launching the anticheat. • Bans for cheating will not be issued right away, there will be a delay up to a few weeks after the first detection.
  
• It's still worth reporting cheaters if you find any because it will indicate that the anticheat needs an update.
