Idle Master is not conneted to Steam
So I have been using Idle Master for years without issue. However, today Idle Master stopped mid run and says i need to sign in. I have tried this, to no avail several times. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, still no luck. I reached out to two friends, one of whom said his is working fine, the other saying he is getting the same issue. Any ideas if this is something widespread?

Heres something else that works AT LEAST FOR ME..
If you have CardIdleRemastered, you can switch to Time Idle (the option you dont need to log in), add the games you want to idle using their store page urls and hit play buttons to all. This way you can farm hours AND cards like that..
Am using it right now.

Just thought I'd post this for anyone that doesn't have another app to idle their games, this is pretty simple and works.

How to idle game/s without Idle Master running or being logged in:

Setup takes a minute or two but it works effectively, I use it frequently as Idle Master can only idle multiple games simultaneously for 2 hours, then it idles them individually, but with this, you can idle all your games at the same time for as long as you need.

  • In the Idle Master folder you will have this file: steam-idle.exe
  • Right click on steam-idle.exe and select create shortcut. Do this as many times as you have games you want to idle - e.g. if you have 5 games to idle, create 5 shortcuts.
  • Now, navigate to the game/s store page and copy the game's unique ID number (it's the number at the end of the URL) example: "http //steampo..... com/app/12345" - 12345 is the game ID
  • With the game ID, right click on one of the shortcuts you just made and select properties
  • At the top, select the shortcut tab - now you will see a line titled Target which will have a directory in it, something like: C:\Folder\Idle Master\steam-idle.exe
  • At the end of that directory line add the game ID you just copied with a space in between - it should look like this: "C:\Folder\Idle Master\steam-idle.exe" 12345
  • Now click OK and you're done. Double click that shortcut and your game will idle the same as it does with Idle Master, but you can idle for as long as you want, you don't need to be signed in or have Idle Master running.
When you double click on the shortcuts a small window will open showing the games profile image. If no window opens, you did something wrong.

Repeat this for each game you want to idle. So again, if you have 5 games to idle, you should finish with 5 shortcuts that each have a unique game ID in the target directory.

Hope this helps some people out until Idle Master and/or Steam fixes the issue.

That's because you already got all your drops, steam gives you half a set and that's it. See your badge page for the exact words "? card drops remaining" ?=the number of cards.

How to use it?

it worked for me !! Thank Watch.
Here's the method whith a bit more detail for those who struggle (With Google Chrome but should work any navigator really) :

COOKIE WORKAROUND

FIRST :
- Make sure you have a clean install of Idle Master (redownload it from the website and deleted the folder from your appdata : [Users directory]\appdata\Local\IdleMaster
- Make sure your connected to steam via Google Chrome

THEN :
1 - Follow these instruction to get to your cookies (Just don't use steamcommunity.com at step 7 but store.steampowered.com instead) : https://github.com/jshackles/idle_master_py/blob/master/Documentation/Setup%20Instructions%20-%20Start%20Here.pdf
2 - You wil get a lot of section : app_impressions, browserid, recentapps... The one that we are interrested in are those 2 : "sessionid" and "steamLogin". Expand those 2 section and note the "content" section of each of them.
3 - Launch steam
4 - Launch Idle Master
5 - On idle matser, go to File>settings. Click and the lock icon at the bottom left of the windows. You get 3 section that looks familiar: "sessionid" and "steamLogin" ("steamparental" is optional)
6 - Enter manually the content you got from step 2.
7 - Relaunch Idle Master (just in case).

I don't want to put my Steam information into this program, what can I do?
Rather than entering your username and password, you can open the program, click "Settings", then click on the lock icon in the lower left. From there you can enter your cookie data manually by following these directions -> https://github.com/jshackles/idle_master_py/blob/master/Documentation/Setup%20Instructions%20-%20Start%20Here.pdf

What I noticed is my sessionID is different from the cookie that on IdleMaster. Only by changing the sessionID it worked for me.

Hope it helps.

BOOM! Worked - thanks! :freidk:

It's not needed, it will give you an error without it but it will log you in.

steamparental is optional, Charly Bee please update your post
