"Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" Check box
After streaming from may main rig to my 2013 MacBook air, the font inside my steam client (on the main machine) is TINY almost unreadable. Mind you it was perfectly in line with the rest of the system fonts prior to in home streaming.

The only resolution (ha ha...) to this that I have found is formatting the machine. I tried this https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638 I have tried to reinstall steam. I have deleted all the registry keys I could find. Older graphics drivers, blah blah blah.

I KNOW it has something to do with the two different aspect ratios. The desktop is running 3,840 x 2,160, 16:9 and DEFAULT DPI and the MacBook Air is 1440 x 900, 16:10.

Lastly, I tried it with my buddies Windows 8.1 laptop running a 1440 x 900 after a clean format on my main machine and it had the exact same outcome with steams font. Unreadable and TINY.

SOLUTION (UPDATE):

I found that after streaming a game to either my MacBook or my buddies Windows 8.1 ultrabook that if I right click the steam executable and click the "compatibility" tab and then "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" is checked and is the cause of the font being tiny.

I don't know why it does this. After unchecking the box, streaming again, the box gets checked again. What's more strange is the font is messed up after exiting a game NOT requiring a steam restart. However, I believe those options in the compatibility tab are not "on the fly," I'm pretty sure they are "launch" options... As removing the check does nothing to restore the font until you restart steam.

What game are you streaming? Does it happen for all games? Do you have DPI scaling turned on for the desktop?

Doesn't matter what I stream from what I've seen. Here lately it has been Magic 2015 and Original Sin.

I'm running windows 8.1 default DPI @150%.

Here are a few screens if they're any help! Thanks for the reply and let me know if you need anything else.
