Steam Deck doesn't support AV1 decoding with Steam Remote Play? (but works with MacBook Pro M3)

It was announced a few weeks ago that Steam Remote Play now supports AV1 but it doesn't seem to work with the Steam Deck.

I've enabled it in the Advanced Client Options but the streaming_log.txt (from host machine running 4090) shows it's not being enabled:

However, when I use my MacBook Pro M3 it does enable AV1:

This seems to indicate the Steam Deck is not requesting (or supporting?) AV1 decoding...

Were you able to figure this one out? The AV1 decode option is greyed out on my Steam Deck. My host PC has a 4090 and has the encode option enabled.
