on router, make sure wifi isolation is disabled
any vpn is disabled
steam -> settings -> remote play -> allow direct = all/auto/my not disabled
None of these seem to be working :(
EDIT: I click the "Stream" button in the game I want to play on the client computer, the game launches on the host computer, then the client computer goes back to Steam and the "Stream" button says "Connect".
The fix is to download the VS Redistributable packages in both x86 and x64.
The link to that is here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145
A little bit silly that the official steam client has absolutely no logs or error codes, but we move. Happy gaming!
That's fantastic, it works for me perfectly. Thanks
I'm using a 64-bit system, but it looks like installing the x86 package is what fixed it. Just in case anyone needs more info:
I had these two packages installed:
* Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.34.31938
* Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) - 11.0.5.0727
I uninstalled both, then installed:
* Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64) - 14.0.23026
And it still didn't work. So I installed:
* Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86) - 14.0.23026
And that fixed it.
Just had the same issue, streaming to my HTPC was not possible. Installing the VS Redis x86 did the trick.
Thank you for mentioning this solution!
