Remote play recognizing only 2 controllers
Hello. I have wanted to play Trine 2 with my family using remote play. I have 3 controllers which are detected and usable if i play on either host(pc) or client device(laptop) but not in remote play. In remote play it detects only 2 controllers even though inside the game it sees the 3 divices but 1 of them does not work.

https://ibb.co/KQBt5C3 - screen from game showing 3 controllers
https://ibb.co/SDt9fvpW - screen from steam settings after launching remote play showing only 2 controllers where controller nr 2 is missing

Are the 3 controllers from XBOX?
Wired or bluetooth?
Go to the Windows settings to try and calibrate it.
If it works, enable Steam Input.
Enter Steam settings, then try and calibrate the controller.
If it works, remote play should recognize it.
All 3 are Switch wired controllers, calibrated, steam input on, They work as intended if I will play the same game on either pc or laptop. Problem is only when i try to use remote play. Controller nr 2 is no longer recognized in steam but it still appears in game even though its not working.

Switch controllers and the game detects them as XBOX? nice...
All 3 have the exact settings?
Maybe you should disable Steam Input then.
If not, when the player 2 with controller 2 connects to Steam Input, try to unplug and plug the controller.
Or maybe player 2 with controller 2 needs to host and others connect to him
A little update.
Controller nr 2 -
a) Does not work in remote play if it is connected to my laptop.
b) It works while NOT in remote play on pc and laptop.
c) It works in remote play if connected to pc.

Remote play -
It seems that when i try to stream game from my pc to laptop only 2 controllers can be connected to my laptop and the 3rd one has to be connected to pc. This is the only way it works. I even tried to change the controller nr 2 for the 4th controller that i keep as a replacement but there was no change.

Is it possible that remote play is limiting client(laptop) to only 2 devices ? If so then why is my laptop accepting only controller nr 1 and nr 3 . nr2 and the 4th will not work at all if connected to my laptop in remote play.

This is so annoying.

I think the only solution will be to buy 1 wireless controller that can handle distance of 10m.

LOL so you are trying to connect all controllers to the same pc... I don't understand why. Usually every pc has a controller connected and all should be detected by the host when they enter with Remote Play.
Think as if you were playing with people on other city or country, not with your family.
