Can't stream to Linux mint 17.1

anyone know why? when I boot the laptop to windows 7 it can be streamed to but not while on Mint.

Linux Mint, nor any other distro supports Steam Streaming. In-Home streaming shoulkd work though

It might be the firewall in Mint that's blocking it.
Try turning it off with either 'sudo ufw disable' or 'sudo systemctl stop firewalld', if ufw isn't installed (remember to re-enable ufw afterwards).

If you then have in-home streaming working, you need to look into which ports to open to the local network in the firewall to have both working at the same time.

In-home streaming works fine on Linux (when not blocked by firewalls or other misconfiguration).
Broadcasting is the part that's not ready on linux yet. ;)
